Characteristics:

Polyurethane foams are lightweight, durable and cushiony materials which vary in density and stiffness. Besides being resistant to heat and chemical attack, they are also a shock and sound absorber as well as a thermal and electrical insulator. Furthermore, polyurethane foams can be easily processed to create a virtually infinite variety of colored, cut, bored, sealed and other forms.

 

Usage:

Flexible Polyurethane Foams

Transport – roof material, seat cushion for cars, aircrafts and trains

Domestic appliances – cushion for bed, sofa and other upholstery/furniture

Characteristics:

Polyurethane elastomers are extremely versatile materials offering a wide range of special characteristics. They have a particularly high level of elasticity, tensile strength and elongation. Besides being superior in their rubber elasticity, abrasion resistance and ozone resistance, these products also have good resistance to oil and gasoline. Other characteristics include being heat (-20°C to 80°C) resistant and hydrolysis resistant, as well as having shock absorbing abilities.

 

Usage:

Industrial usage – Wide range of rollers, tubes, belts, packaging, gear, insulation rubber, pipe linings and coatings for textile surfaces.

Other – shoe soles, plastic hammers, cutting boards, adhesive sheets, and solid tires

Characteristics:

Polyurethane coatings adhere well to most materials, forming excellent protective layers that are abrasion resistant, water resistant and chemical resistant.

Characteristics:

Besides having the ability to adjust properties to optimal flexibility levels, polyurethane adhesives also provide good adhesive strength to substrates. They are also water, oil and chemical resistant.

 

Usage:

Food packaging, shoes, wood, building and construction, automobiles, lamination (dry lamination, anchor coating for extrusion lamination)

Characteristics:

Offering good mechanical and chemical strength, polyurethane binders are the backbone of high-strength adhesive systems for the bonding of particulate materials and other materials. The bonding strength and molecular weight of polyurethane binders can be readily adjusted to meet the needs of the particular application.

Magnetic recording media - music tapes, videotapes, magnetic cards

Wooden boards - particle boards, MDF, vinyl boards

Building and construction materials – rubber chip binders, anchor bolts

Characteristics:

Polyurethane chemicals can be mixed and coated at the site and left to harden at room temperature, producing a seamless, waterproof elastic film. These products are optimal for the use in construction and refurnishing applications. Other applications include sealants used as surfacing of athletic tracks, and many more.

Characteristics:

Polyurethane leathers are lightweight and comfortable materials. They cannot be damaged by water, are easily maintained, abrasion resistant and can be dry cleaned. They also have strong oil, lubricants and chemical resistance. Polyurethane leather ranges from soft to hard, and is available in a wide variety of colors and patterns.

 

Usage:

Synthetic leather - handbags, shoes, belt

Surface treatments for all kinds of leather goods

Characteristics:

As polyurethane adapts well to the human body, it is being used in artificial organs and dialysis equipment. In addition, it is also utilized in water purification/filtration systems.

Characteristics:

Spandex fiber, which are made from polyurethane elastic fibers, are similar to natural rubber but offer superior weight, strength, abrasion resistance, weather resistance, chemical resistance dye-ability performance properties.
