Effective April 14, 2006, of the 1.95 million shares possessed by Hodogaya Chemical Co., Ltd. in the company, 500,000 were transferred to Tosoh Corp., and the shareholding ratio of Nippon Polyurethane Industry thereby became Tosoh 51.67% (1.55 million shares) and Hodogaya Chemical 48.33% (1.45 million shares). Nippon Polyurethane Industry thus changed from being a consolidated subsidiary of Hodogaya Chemical to one of Tosoh.

In addition, capitalization was increased through a placement of ¥10,000.2 million of new shares to both shareholders on June 18, 2006 , and the company's capitalization thereby increased from ¥1.5 billion to ¥11,500.2 million.
