Nippon Polyurethane Industry Co. Ltd. (Headquarters Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Katsusuke Sawai) has decided to construct a new plant for MDI in Shunan-shi, Yamaguchi , with completion targeted in October 2007, in order to respond to increasing demand in Asian region.  The new plant will have a capacity of 200,000mt/y. 

After the construction, total MDI production capacity of NPU will be 400,000mt/y.  This means that NPU will have the biggest production scale of its kind in the Asian region.

3. Completion: October 2007

4. Commercial operation: January 2008
