March
Establishment of NPU (Head office: Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) for the purpose of producing polyurethane for the Japanese market.
1962
October
Inauguration of the Nanyo factory; started production of TDI and polyesters.
1965
February
Osaka Sales Office opened (current Osaka Branch).
1966
November
Nagoya Sales Office opened (current Nagoya Branch).
1967
April
Head Office moved to Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo.
1970
September
ICI becomes an NPU shareholder.
1972
September
Central Research Laboratory moved to the current location in Yokohama.
1977
June
Inauguration of the "5M" MDI plant.
1978
August
MDI technical license agreement concluded with People's Republic of China.
1979

Inauguration of the HDI plant.
1980

Establishment of Nanyo Chemical Co., Ltd.

Inauguration of the "7M" MDI plant.

Establishment of Nippoly America Corp. (NAC).
